Prayer

If anyone gets a chance, check out the article in todays Kingsport Times. The Article is on the front page and it talks about the issue that came up at Gate City at a football game. It appears that a prayer was made at the game and ended in the name of Jesus Christ. For this, the ACLU was contacted and wrote a letter to the principal about being unlawful prayer. The students have initiated a civil protest in response. Read the article and share if you feel like it about what is going on.

I was just reading something similar the other day: http://www.wrcbtv.com/Global/story.as... about some cheerleaders who had bible verses wrote on some signs and after someone complained they were no longer allowed to display those. Seems scary to me that there are groups out there that are doing things like this to stop Christians from praying and showing their faith.

It really makes me think of the war on absolute truth that we see in society today. It reminds me of the signs of the times concerning the compromising religion that we have been discussing in class. A great scripture

Jude 1:3 (King James Version)

3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

This was a scripture that I used in the sermon on accepting absolute truth in the heart but I really didnt spend a great deal of time on it in the message. What is the christian reaction in these situations? This is something that we are being forced to face and answer for ourselves, our families, and our churches which are to be the lighthouse of the community.
