Marriage lesson 1
Statistics – 50%, 50%, 67%
Questions: Why do I need to get married, just live together? What is the true orientation of marriage? Why do we take vows usually in front of a minister? What does the perfect husband look like? What does the perfect wife look like? What has gone wrong in my relationship?
How this study can benefit me? Help me find the right person and establish a marriage in God. Help me identify some problems in my marriage. Help me advise others out of my experience.
Statement:
 I. The portrait of God’s plan for marriage:

What did he need?
It is a perfect match – Eve enhanced Adam’s existence by giving him just what he needed.
2. Vows –Gen 2:23 -24
Adam says – Wow!! – Here is my promise before God, his vow.
Why do we give vows?
3. Equality – Eve was taken from the same substance of man, not a different kind. There is no inferiority in –
4. Unity – Mathew 19 v 4 – 6 – God’s plan was based on the principals of solidarity, monogamy, and unity. 1. No one closer                          2. If we are not in agreement then -
5. Deep connection – made of flesh and bone together – more than a physical union, a deep union of heart and soul.
6. Roles of men and women –
Women:                                                                                      Men: 
God made us different!
Role of the man– Eph 5: 23 - To be the leader – spiritual and physical.
Role of the woman: V 22 - “rib” – a support – shows support and respect.
Ideal Husband – V 25 - Self sacrificing love –
Ideal Wife – pillar, support, and respect.
