Background:

Iconium: Close to Modern day Turkey. Plum and apricot orchards. On the major road to Syria and it was a commercial center.  Lystra – not a very civilized city. It was built as a military outpost, constructed out in the wilds solely for protection. Rome’s military highway ran right through this city. Derbe – furthest city of the Empire in Galatia. It was 30 miles from Lystra, It was the deepest frontier city.
